RELIEV - Rheumatic diseases Long-term Interdisciplinary Relief and prevention

Despite modern drug therapies, many people with joint diseases continue to suffer from mobility restrictions. These often lead to high sick leave rates, long-term occupational disability, psychological stress, and limited social participation. Physical therapy can play a crucial role in alleviating pain and maintaining mobility. However, treatment appointments are often difficult to obtain and integrate into everyday life. In addition, unstructured or poorly personalized therapies and differences in treatment quality make it difficult to provide sustainable care.

Project objective

The RELIEV project is developing and testing a structured, digitally supported, and interdisciplinary treatment concept for people with rheumatic diseases. The aim is to improve care through the targeted use of digital tools by individually combining elements from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, and nutritional counseling. This should reduce symptoms, promote mobility, and support social participation in the long term.
